WELCOME TO MUDDY DOGS

Your Pet’s Second-Best Friend

Whether you’re on holiday, at work, or just don’t like leaving your pet at home all day, leave them with someone who truly loves animals. As well as offering specialized care, I bring you total peace of mind. Unlike other dog walkers I only walk a maximum of 4 dogs at a time, as recommended by Dogs Trust, to give your pet the best care that they need and deserve.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

Paws for Thought

Hi, I'm Tom and I'm dedicated to my passion and adoration for animal care, I provide loyal and loving pet care and services to the Sussex area.

I have an up to date Pet First Aid Certificate, DBS checked & I am fully insured. One added service I can provide is to send Whatsapp updates of your pet(s) to give you peace of mind and to ensure you that your loved one is in safe hands.

I pride myself on my patience, kindness and competence — and I'm glad to say that my clients would agree. It’s why so many of them use my services on a regular basis. No job is too big or too small for me to handle, so please get in touch. I can’t wait to start looking after your precious pet.

At Muddy Dogs, I will only ever walk 4 dogs at one time, why do I do this? In my opinion, it is safer to only walk that number of dogs per walk as any more and your attention becomes too split to be able to effectively monitor all the dogs you are responsible for. This doesn’t just involve keeping an eye on where they are if they are off the lead, but looking out for needed toilet stops and picking up after them.

There are also dangers that you have to keep front of mind, such as busy roads, livestock, other dogs, cyclists, people and children, and your general surroundings. Dogs mixing in a large pack walk can also run the risk of transmitting illness and disease from one to another no matter how careful the owners or walkers are. The bigger the group the more likely it is for fights to break out or for some of the smaller, more timid dogs to get picked on as other dogs try to establish dominance. Accidents can happen in an instant and the more dogs there are, the harder it is to keep them all safe, whether that’s from surroundings or from each other.

I am pet first aid trained, so I am prepared to respond in an emergency. The likelihood of something else happening when you’re tending to one dog if there are endless other dogs running around would be, I imagine, quite high. I feel the point to keep in mind with pack-walking, is that dogs cannot be expected to get along 100% of the time, just like humans, and when excitement levels run high what would normally be a small disagreement between two dogs can escalate into a bigger dog fight very quickly.

When looking for a dog walker, I would urge you to keep this information in mind for your peace of mind and your dog's wellbeing.

Tom was great. Gave me Whatsapp updates on both visits so i knew he had been and that the cats were fed and happy. Tom was really communicative and i was happy knowing that they were in very safe, trustworthy hands. Can't thank Tom enough, would definitely use him again.
